Saturday, August 14th, 2010 -Come on out to Westport Farmers’ Market this Saturday, August 14th and enjoy a corn roast and BBQ starting at 11:00am! Fresh local corn and local hamburgers and sausages are on the menu with all proceeds going to support the growth of our local market. You can also check out one of the MUSICwestport stages at the same location as the market…the first show starts at 1:00pm with the Tom Savage Trio and it is FREE!
Saturday, August 14th, 2010 – 4th Annual MUSICwestport festival (FREE!) Nine bands on 3 outdoor stages. Pond side at the Cove Country Inn – 2 Bedford Street, SOHO’s – 43 Bedford Street, A Victorian Reflection B&B – 43 Church Street. Performances start at noon with a “kids show” on the Cove stage. Also, indoors at the Cove Country Inn 8:00 – 11:30 p.m. $5.00 cover. www.westportartscouncil.ca
Saturday, August 28th, 2010 – 1st Annual Sand Lake Tri Dig out your swim cap, oil your chain and lace up those sneakers for the 1st Annual Sand Lake Tri benefiting the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Participants from all over Eastern Ontario will put their hearts into raising funds to support the life saving research that is funded by HSFO. 11:00 a.m. Registration; 2:00 p.m. Race Starts. June 2011 – The Westport Heritage Festival features a select group of quality vendors selling arts, crafts, gifts and food, as well as several displays, information booths and musicians. Bedford Street, Westport, 9am – 4pm. Farmer’s & Crafter’s Market, Heritage Displays & Museum Tours, Musical Entertainment, Children’s Area & Activities including Facepainting, Balloon Animals, Fun by the Shriner’s Clowns. BBQ lunch 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. No gate charge – Food Bank donations gladly accepted. Vendors/Displays wanted.
