Active Outdoor Life at Foley Mountain Conservation Area – Join in the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority’s new series of special programs that feature great opportunities to get outside and take full advantage of what Mother Nature has to offer with the following programs:
Conquer Foley Mountain – Every Thursday from 10-11:30am, Jan 19 to Feb 23, 2012 – Looking for a fun challenge? Wondering if snowshoeing is for you? Participate in six snowshoeing sessions designed to help you conquer Foley Mountain Conservation Area. Learn snowshoe techniques, how to dress for outdoor exercise, safety tips, orienteering and basic GPS skills. Special introductory rate of $100 per person (includes snowshoe rental, GPS units, and YakTrax). Winter Adventurers Day Camp – February 3, 2012 from 9am-4pm
Don’t spend the next PA day cooped up inside! Join the outdoor adventures at Foley Mountain Conservation Area! Children aged six to 12 are invited to learn how to snowshoe, erect shelters, build campfires, cook and orienteer. Family Snowshoe Adventures –February 11, 2012 from 10-11:30am or 1:30-3:00pm
Is snowshoeing for you and your family? Give it a whorl at our snowshoe adventure clinics. Learn snowshoeing techniques, how to dress for winter, and participate in a great nature hike with an RVCA interpreter. The cost, which includes snowshoe rental, is $15 per adult and $10 per child or a family package of $40 (five person family maximum). May 2012 - Westport Dandelion Gardens Studio Tour - The annual Westport and Area Dandelion Gardens Tour is being held again on the May long weekend from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.
